Real 4-2 Bayern (agg: 6-3) - Ronaldo hat-trick, referee blunders!

Cristiano Ronaldo netted a hat-trick as Real Madrid won an enthralling contest 4-2 against Bayern Munich to progress to the Champions League semi-finals 6-3 on aggregate after extra-time.Bayern lost their home leg 2-1 but troubled the Madrid backline all night at the Bernabeu and opened the scoring through a Robert Lewandowski penalty on 53 minutes. At this point Carlo Ancelotti's side would still exit the competition on the away goals so they continued to press for a second goal but were sucker punched by a brave Cristiano Ronaldo header in the 76th minute.Bayern were not fazed, however, and scored a second goal just minutes later when Sergio Ramos put the ball into his own net after Lewandowski caused panic in the penalty box.Bayern now held the advantage of the away goals rule if they scored next but the game was turned on its head when the referee controversially sent off Arturo Vidal for a second yellow card six minutes from the end of normal time for a strong tackle on Marco Asensio - replays show the Chilean got all ball.Real Madrid made their numerical advantage count in extra-time to score three unanswered goals although Bayern will be further frustrated that Ronaldo's two strikes in that period were shown as offside upon replays.Asensio added Real Madrid's fourth of the night with a solo effort to give the tie an untrue 6-3 lopsided aggregate scoreline in favour of the Spanish giants.
