Real Salt Lake were held to a 1-1 draw by Sporting Kansas City in a controversial game marred by poor referee decisions.The hosts took the lead in the first half from a Silva goal, but were pegged back after the break. The referee awarded a penalty to KC despite Marcelo Silva clearly winning the ball off Benny Feihaber, who converted the spot kick.Joao Plata then had a chance on a counter-attack but was hauled down by the last defender - only for the referee to wave play on!
