Wenger delighted Giroud decided to stay and fight at Arsenal!
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was full of praise for match-winner Olivier Giroud following Friday's 4-3 thriller against Leicester City in the Premier League. The north London outfit looked headed for another opening day defeat as they were still trailing the Foxes 3-2 when substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Giroud were brought on.A clever touch and finish from Ramsey in the 83rd minute levelled the game, allowing Giroud to grab the winner just two minutes later with powerfully placed header from a corner kick.Wenger said: "It's fantastic. I must tell you I opened the door for him at some stage (to leave the club) because it's important for him to play but I don't want him to go. And in the end he decided to stay and it was one of the great days of recent weeks for me because I know how important he is. Not only as a player, he's a fantastic player but as well in the group. He has a big weight in this squad and it was a relief for me that he decided to stay."
