SEA Games: Laos 0-2 Singapore - Dominant Young Lions seal lifeline

Singapore’s Under-23s had a slim chance of making it to the semi-finals of the 2017 SEA Games after consecutive group defeats but did their utmost to preserve their chances as they saw off their Laos counterparts 2-0 on Friday. Taufik Suparno rifled home in the second minute to set the tone and Ikhsan Fandi doubled the lead with a penalty. Singapore could have won by four or five goals, and that bodes well for their final game against Brunei, in which they need to win by a huge margin to stand any chances of reaching the last four.
