Messi's Argentina future hangs on Russia 2018 performance!

Lionel Messi has admitted that it would have been the end of his Argentina career had they failed to qualify for next year's World Cup in Russia. Messi cemented his legendary status as one of the game's greats with a sublime hat-trick for 3-1 win away at Ecuador to book their place in next year's tournament in a dramatic final round of South American qualifying. But the 30-year-old may still cut short his international career depending on how the beaten finalists from the 2014 edition perform in Russia. He said: "I don't know what will happen after the World Cup, how it will go and well, we'll try to get there in the best way, keep growing in these months that we have left, make the most of the time we have, because there is little time left for what is coming and then later we will see."
