No Cavani, no party. Neymar & Mbappe fail to fill veteran’s void

Unai Emery left Edinson Cavani on Paris Saint-Germain’s bench for their trip to Strasbourg, presumably resting the Uruguayan, and that decision backfired spectacularly as they ended up losing 2-1. The Ligue 1 leaders were incredibly wasteful in front of goal without Cavani’s predatory instincts, as Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore were unable to finish their chances. By the time their prolific striker came off the bench in the 75th minute, there was too little he could do with defeat already decided.
