RB Leipzig 1-2 Besiktas: CL fantasy ends for European upstarts


RB Leipzig needed a win against Besiktas to stand any chance of progressing to the Champions League knockout stages but the tournament debutants did not manage that, losing 2-1 in front of their fans to be sent into the Europa League. Visiting keeper Tolga Zengin was titanic to deny Timo Werner and Kevin Kampl chances as Leipzig’s first foray in Europe’s premier club competition came to an end - but not after several memorable results!
