Al Jazira 1-2 Real Madrid: Ronaldo & Bale help world champs scrape by

An unconvincing Real Madrid scraped through to the Club World Cup final after a 2-1 victory over UAE champions Al Jazira. The plot did not turn out as planned after Casemiro’s goal was ruled out by VAR and Romarinho notched the opener to put Henk Ten Cate’s underdogs ahead. Ali Khaseif put on a goalkeeping masterclass to then keep Madrid at bay, but after his substitution through injury the Champions League winners broke through first via Cristiano Ronaldo and then Gareth Bale, sending them to the final albeit unconvincingly.
