Harry Kane notched a sublime hat-trick in his last game of 2017 to reach 39 Premier League goals for the year - shattering Alan Shearer's record (36) for most goals scored in the competition for a calendar year.But it was another record which should have Kane supporters even more excited. The Tottenham star finishes 2017 with 56 goals for club and country - meaning he is the first player outside of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to finish the year top scorer in Europe since 2009.The pair have dominated the football landscape for years but now it appears we can finally add a new name into the mix when it comes time to vote for the title of world's best player.
