Caen 0-2 Marseille: Thauvin inspires win with determined curler

Florian Thauvin was decisive again as the former Newcastle midfielder helped his Marseille side to beat Caen 2-0. Ivan Santini had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half for Caen, and Marseille eventually took the lead on 50 minutes through Dimitri Payet's penalty after Bouna Sarr was fouled in the box. Thauvin made sure of the three points in the 74th minute with a curler after his initial shot was blocked. Marseille move up to second place temporarily ahead of Lyon's clash with leaders Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
