Bristol bow out with heads held high after pegging Man City back

Championship club Bristol City dreamed of reaching the Carabao Cup final but reality eventually set in after they bowed out 5-3 on aggregate to Premier League giants Manchester City. That said, the Ashton Gate outfit gave a good account themselves and more than held their own, fighting back in front of their fans to recover from two early goals to make it 2-2 at one point. Lee Johnson’s men will take heart from the way they pushed their glamorous opponents to the edge over both legs, as the swashbuckling minnows now turn their attention to securing promotion to England’s top-flight.
