Germany 2-1 Saudi Arabia: Werner leads the line to end bad run

World Cup holders Germany ended their run of five games without a win as they prepared for Russia 2018 with a 2-1 international friendly victory over Saudi Arabia. While never fully convincing, the hosts’ opening strike from Timo Werner - picked to start by Joachim Low over Mario Gomez - and an own-goal from Omar Hawsawi wrapped up the win despite Taisir Al Jassim converting from a penalty rebound late in the game.
