Japan coach Nishino steps down, captain Hasebe retires

After a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat against Belgium in the last-16 of the World Cup, Japan arrived back home in Tokyo on Thursday morning. Coach Akira Nishino's contract expires after the World Cup and the Japan Football Association confirmed that it will not extended. "I felt frustrated like never before," Nishino said about the Belgium match. "The players in the pitch were aggressively playing against Belgium in the last 30 minutes, and that made me believe that they would be able to score the winning goal."
